How to Release Insectec Beneficial Insects: A Step-by-Step Guide

At Insectec, we understand that proper release of beneficial insects is critical to ensuring effective pest control and healthy crops. Our products are carefully packaged to keep insects safe and viable, but knowing how and when to release them can make all the difference in their success.

Below you’ll find detailed release instructions for our most popular products, helping you get the best results from your biological control efforts.

1. Best Time to Release

Release beneficial insects early in the morning or late afternoon, when temperatures are cooler and conditions are less stressful for the insects.

Avoid the hottest part of the day to increase survival and dispersal.

2. Release Instructions by Product Type

Parasitic Wasps (ANA-TEC and COCCI-TEC)

Expected results: 2 to 4 weeks after release, look for black spots on larger mealybugs and mealybugs that appear swollen and hardened — signs that parasitism is taking effect.

How to release:

Hang the container on a steady branch on the shaded side of the tree, about 1.2 meters above the ground.

Remove only the red sticker on the lid to open a small exit hole—do not remove the entire white cap. This allows wasps to exit gradually without exposing them all at once.

Predatory Beetles (CRYPTO-TEC and NEPH-TEC)

Expected results: 3 to 4 weeks after release, you’ll notice beetle larvae and white mealybug remains in the release area, indicating effective predation.

How to release:

Hang the container on a steady branch on the shaded side of the tree, approximately 1.2 meters from the ground.

For CRYPTO-TEC, remove the white lid with the red sticker completely—this removes the honey strip inside and lets the beetles exit freely.

For NEPH-TEC, remove only the red sticker on the lid to open a small exit hole.

Mark the trees where beetles are released to monitor their effectiveness.
